LeaderShip Team

Studio RHE is a team of over 15 problem solvers dedicated to making the physical world around us better for everyone.

Richard founded Studio RHE in 1997 in Marylebone, London - borrowing a deskspace in his brother-in-laws product design studio and since that time he has overseen more than 50 high-end International projects.

Richard built his global reputation on the solid design and delivery of bold and innovative projects, from exclusive lifestyle environments via inspired residential and leisure developments through to truly unique workplace designs.

He studied at the Architectural Association in London, achieving the only RIBA Professional Honours awarded that year. With original research having been published in the RIBA Journal, he has also contributed to publications such as The Times, The Guardian, Financial Times and for the BBC.

Before setting up Studio RHE, Richard worked in London with Richard Horden and in Australia with RIBA Royal Gold Medalists Daryl Jackson in Melbourne and Philip Cox in Sydney, with whom he designed the Sydney Aquarium, the Aquatics Centre and Bond University as well as a range of luxury hotels, villas, and Spa projects across the Middle East, the Caribbean, and the Indian Ocean.

Recognised as a visionary for how we might live and work in the future, Richard has spoken widely on the ‘Workplace of Tomorrow’ and ‘Placemaking' with several of his projects being broadcast including the BBC’s ‘Happy Architecture’ and CNN’s ‘Future Buildings’.

His genuine concern over the current housing shortage and research into timber engineering and modular construction lead to his designing a modular design for the ‘nHouse’ a low cost modular housing solution which he brought from the drawing board to market.

Recent Awards have celebrated his design skills across a wide range from ‘The World’s Best Resorts’ to Workplace Design and Public Realm place making.

Interesting Fact: Richard holds an International Motor Racing License and on 2 wheels has completed both the ‘Etape du Tour’ and ‘Maratona di Dolomiti’.
